The team at DFX definitely helped to change the direction of our daughter’s development. They have gone above and beyond to educate my wife and me on what to do, recommending books, and joining conference calls with our daughter’s school to talk about her progress. Our therapist has come to our house to facilitate play between our daughter and son, and even joined our daughter on the playground at school several times to help her work on social skills.

Wraparound Care
We believe in the importance of integrating the care your child is receiving in the clinic into their home, school, and other areas of their community. Your child's therapist can assist you in a variety of ways so that skills learned in the clinic are transferred into day-to-day living and your child is supported throughout their ecosystem.
Our Care Doesn't Stop When you Exit Our Doors
DFX’s approach to individualized care extends to the child’s family and entire ecosystem. We support caregivers in learning about their child’s strengths and needs, and provide resources and advocacy in a caring, professional manner, all grounded in our team’s deep knowledge across disciplines. We see parents and caregivers as key players on the child’s care team, and encourage them to observe therapies, ask questions, and participate in establishing goals for their child.
Part of our "Clinic In Community" Program
DFX’s Wraparound Initiative is part of our Clinic in the Community program area through which we offer targeted assistance to caregivers of children who are living with complex neurodevelopmental and mental health conditions so that they can better understand the unique challenges that these children are struggling with. By extending our reach into the child's home and school environment, we equip caregivers and teachers with the resources, support, and knowledge they need to create an environment that promotes successful development for these children.
Creating Bridges, Understanding, and Inclusion
Our clinicians create a bridge for communication between parents, educators, and other healthcare providers, bringing everyone together to enhance understanding of how best to serve the child’s and family’s needs. Family tension, behavior problems, confusion about the child’s individual differences, caregiver stress, and sibling discrepancy are diminished, creating a more positive and supportive environment for the entire family.
By articulating a shared vision of what is possible for a child, we strive to create a culture of inclusion and possibility, rather than one of isolation and limitations.
