Ricki Brockman was a special education teacher in the public sector; teaching in Michigan, Missouri, and Colorado. She graduated with a B.A. in Organizational Studies from the University of Michigan and continued to receive both general and special education teaching certificates as well as an M.A. in Special Education from Eastern Michigan University. Along with a professor in graduate school, Ricki (previously, Erica Tepper) co-authored Compassion Fatigue and Burnout: Precursors to Elementary Special Educators’ Exodus from Teaching (2007). Ricki has significant experience in assessment, instruction, curriculum, as well as modifications and accommodations. Her involvement began with DFX in 2014 and she joined the Board of Directors in 2019. She is currently involved at Stanley British Primary School as a parent and volunteer. Ricki enjoys spending time and traveling with her husband, Justin, three children, Cooper, Benji, and Billie, as well as her dog, Crosby.
