Jeanine Coleman

Director

Jeanine Coleman joined the education faculty at Regis University in 2022 as the Director of the Global Inclusive College Certificate. She earned a B.A. from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in Secondary Education, M.S. from Southern Illinois University in Early Childhood Special Education, and Ph.D. from the University of Denver, in Child, Family and School Psychology. Dr. Coleman has worked on many teams at the local and state levels on behalf of children with disabilities and their families for the past 30 years. The teams include research, policy, assessment, and teaching.

Dr. Coleman an Associate Professor in the Education Division and the Director of the GLOBAL Inclusive Program at Regis University, which is an inclusive higher education program for students with intellectual disabilities. Previously, Jeanine was a Clinical Associate Professor and program director of the Early Childhood Special Education master’s program. Her research includes families with children with neurodevelopmental and intellectual disabilities, assessments methods, and working with families going through the early intervention and special education processes.

Dr. Coleman coordinates the Denver site of the NIH Toolbox research in collaboration with other institutions in California, Illinois, and Ohio, focusing on the sensitivity and validation of assessment measures for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Furthermore, Jeanine is working on projects related to transdisciplinary teaming and the expressed emotion of families with children and young adults with intellectual disabilities.
